Welcome to Ellie's Design and Illustration Blog!

I create decorative designs that I license to manufacturers of giftware, home decor, tabletop and paper products. These items include ceramic tableware, paper partyware, scrapbook and related craft items, placemats, journals, greeting cards and gift bags, to name a few. I am also a long time fan of fashion illustration and am working towards new pursuits in the areas of fashion and lifestyle illustration for marketing, advertising and editorial content for both traditional and digital media.

About Me

Ellie Rahim: Manhattan, NY, United States; I'm a London born Brit living in Manhattan! I spend most of my time designing, sketching and painting in my Queens studio. That's when I'm not running, swimming, power walking, sun bathing on my rooftop, cycling, sailing (well sunbathing at the front of the boat actually), movie watching, reading and generally making the most of the New York summer!

Room With a View

After having no view for 7 years in London, I finally found a view I never get bored of. While I am working, I can see tankers being pushed by tug boats along the East River (which is to the right of this picture), planes, helicopters, cars, people along the street below. I tune out the street noise, to my mum's amazement, but I enjoy the bells from the United Nations church below my apartment.

Beneath the Surface

I am an artist as well as a designer and enjoy spending time in my Queens studio. I am mainly an abstract painter but also attend classical life drawing classes at The Art Students League of New York and the Grand Central Academy of New York.
